EC got away this weekend for much needed rest and re-connecting with each other and with the Lord.  We’re all so busy with our home, work, church, family, etc., and get so busy with living that we or I forget to STOP.  This weekend was one of  those STOP weekends and BOY! was it a good STOP weekend.   As we were sitting around, one of the things we began discussing was what do we consider “success” or to be “successful”.  I pondered this for a long time and it finally came to me through my friend, Monica, that being successful for me or us is to be “satisfied”.  Now that may seem strange to some, but when you realize what being satisfied means, it will give you a better idea of what I mean.

In the Strong concordance, satisfied  means “to be in the fullness of God’s presence”.  So satisfaction in material success will always be temporary, but if your success is being satisfied in the fullness of God’s presence , then for me that is true success.  So what does success mean to you?  Think on it………

This Saturday (July 12th) is Tim’s 50th birthday. Take a moment to send him a birthday wish, just post a comment.  Pass it on to family and friends!   Your wishes will be given to him on his big day.  He will love it! Shhhhhhh………..it’s a surprise! We have just announced the release date for our new CD.  Please join us on Saturday, Feb 23rd at 7:00 pm.  The concert will be held at North Greenville Christian Fellowship, 1769 Keeler Mill Rd., Travelers Rest, SC.  We would love to meet all of you and welcome you to EVIDENT CALL’s community of friends.  Tony, Tim and I are so excited about this project.  It has truly been a unique experience, to say the least,  for each one of us including Liz (Tim’s wife, our manager).  Bless her heart, she has to manage us (if that is possible), keep us focused (oh, well, that’s an impossible chore) and handle all the business details.  She does a great job too!   The last few months since June of 2007 have found us in a whirlwind of activity leading up to this moment.  Little did we know that we would accomplish so much since then. Going to Nashville to record and finishing our first CD as EVIDENT CALL and attending the National Quartet Convention in September.   Truly we are blessed with the friendship that has developed between us and the bond God has given us as brothers and sisters in Christ.  There is no doubt, we love to sing and have fun doing it!  We can’t help but be joyful because of the One we serve who is our joy!  Without Him, we would have no reason to sing.  Can I get an amen?  His love, grace and mercy has been extended to each one of us and this is the message we present in our songs.  So come on and join us, let’s worship Him together and have a wonderful time.  HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!
